Over at RADAR, we’re getting ready to enter Cycle #2 and generate our next spin around our flywheel. That means getting deep into our 

 with the community, guided by a project team. In our first go, we produced 

). And while it was amazing, there’s always room to get smarter and more innovative in the ways we’re working. 

We’ve thought a lot about what a ‘Centaur’ approach to research could look like for us — and where it has a meaningful role to play. It’s not in the writing, or in the synthesis and pattern recognition, that’s where our human touch comes in to play. But there’s SO much legwork — and it’s those 

 that Venkatesh Rao talks about, the tools for thought that 

 is experimenting with, where we really think we can impact our process, make it smarter & more efficient, and let us get straight to the parts where we add true value. 

We’ve got some thoughts already, but we’re eager to partner with someone who’s interested in the topic themselves and might have ideas of their own.  Looking for someone who knows enough about AI to be dangerous, can build in and around Discord and/or Airtable, and is generally excited about innovating in the tools for thought space. Would love to create and publish in partnership, and depending on how we’re able to work together, $SIGNAL is likely how we’d compensate. 

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with our initial ideas…

What if we upgraded our existing ‘Bookmarker Bot’ by taking cues from Reader’s GhostReader AI? Could we generate document summaries as a MVP? Perhaps building on more of the GhostReader capabilities as we iterate? 

What if we took cues from The Gist, a slack bot that summarizes any channel or thread in one click? Can we build this within Discord? 

How might we create our own version of Elicit? Rather than scraping the universe of academia, could we create a curated list of our favorite resources for the AI to scan on our behalf?  Is there a simple Q&A portal we could build that would pull the relevant pieces with key summaries?
