Hi all! We’re workshopping an open source course for our next Mars College cohort, starting on Jan 1st. Mars College is an educational program, R&D lab, and temporary city built each year in Bombay Desert, CA. You can find more info on the program 

One of the majors offered this year is on DAOs and crypto. We want to focus specifically on how web3 infrastructures and tokenized communities can be the backbone to creating sustainable, regenerative, and alternative societies. Some of the topics we’ll be covering include: new economic models; governance of the commons; eco-villages of the past, present, and future; and the decentralized peer economy. All related content will be published under the MIT open source license after the program concludes. 

Currently, the program is based loosely around 

 from DAOhaus, but we’re open to suggestions for how we can improve the program and other sources of inspiration we can draw from. The final outcome of the course is to work collaboratively on an open source project that takes what we’ve learned and applies it to a real world solarpunk community.

We’re looking for help from experts and lecturers who can advise us on creating the syllabus, and people who might be interested in lecturing or helping us with live workshops during the program itself.
