This week I’ve been thinking about how to communicate the concept that “disorder increases over time” and how this translates to pursuing project goals and an organisation’s vision. 

I liken it to skywriting. In the moment the message is clear and visible to everyone, but as soon as it’s written it starts to lose its sharpness. Over time it dissipates. 

Good teams will take a picture of it and preserve it somewhere visible, but it is still a snapshot in time. Even if the message still feels true, has the context changed? The vision may seem clear from one viewpoint, but cloudy from the perspective of a different audience or customer base. 

Part of my contribution to the GAOA Network is helping restore the clarity of the moment when the message was first written, with everyone standing together, under the same sky, reading the same words.
